The purpose of this section is to explain to individuals with disabilities the legal rights they possess. Many times, an individual may face discrimination in some fashion and not understand their rights have been violated. The information on this page is taken from a Department of Justice report titled A Guide to Disability Rights Laws. This report summarizes all the relevant legislation protecting the rights of the disabled, and explains how to take action if discrimination takes place. Also provided are advocacy groups that have represented individuals with disabilities in past litigation and may be of help for someone seeking to file a grievance.
