We invite you to volunteer your time and talents in support of your disability community. We are seeking volunteers both locally from the Greater Milwaukee area and throughout the United States.
Volunteer Position Available:
Disability Research Assistant
Start Date: Immediately
Hours: Flexible
Qualifications and Experiences required: People with disabilities, their families or caregivers or other people interested in disability issues.
About the Disability Specific Resources Project:
We are *New Horizons Un-Limited,* a non-profit organization for people with disabilities. We provide access to information for people with disabilities through our website on the Internet. We believe communication as being the foremost way in which people with disabilities can share their experiences and help each other toward finding opportunities that will lessen their isolation and breakdown the barriers that inhibit them from full participation in their communities.
With this vision in mind we have created a section on our New Horizons Un-Limited website on Disability Specific Resources, which consists of a comprehensive group of resources on specific disabilities for people with disabilities, their families, caregivers and others involved with disability issues within our community. We could use your help!
Duties and Responsibilities:
Because we would like these pages to be not only informational, but include insight from people with disabilities about daily living problems and solutions, we are looking for volunteers to help us with the research and development of these pages. We hope that for each disability we represent, we will offer people a way to understand what they are facing and find real solutions for themselves if possible.
Instructions:
Please consider assisting us in Disability Research and Writing for our entire community! If you agree to do so, please fill out the volunteer application and submit it to us. We will send you instructions. It is easy and you will be helping others!
