One of the most frustrating tasks faced by most adults with disabilities is finding adequate Employment. One must work with business and labor to be aware of adaptations to the work environment for successful employment. Finding successful employment may also involve other considerations such as relocation and transportation.
Remember how hard you worked to gain your skills. Now you must fight at least twice as hard to receive your rights to employment. No one will work hard for you, if you do not.
There are many resources available for you to understand your rights, finding solutions for job accommodation and the employability of people with disabilities.
There are also many resources or organizations that can help you fine-tune your skills and help you find your perfect job. Use them in your fight to find employment.
Find national and state organizations and agencies, resources that offer information on employment accessibility and the laws of the ADA that govern access to employment, local and national organizations and agencies that offer advocacy and legal services on employment, disability discrimination, etc.
Learn more about employers that hire people with disabilities, laws that protect you in the workforce, and benefits of and services available for hiring people with disabilities.
Learn about employment programs, job training, resume development, interviewing and more, student transition to employment, and business basics, links to resources that can help you start your own business. Learn how to prepare for and find home-based work, link to resources that can help you work at home.
