National

Christopher and Dana Reeve Paralysis Resource Center is an extensive online library offering information on paralysis as it relates to the following topics, Active Living, Caregiving, Health, Tools and Technology and Travel. They also offer the latest news in the fields of Rehabilitation and Research.

National Spinal Cord Injury Association (NSCIA) offers information and support to all those with spinal cord injuries or degenerative diseases which affect the spinal cord. More specifically, NSCIA coordinates resources at the local level, provides care consultation services to persons who have recently experienced spinal cord injury and their families, educates professionals about proper methods of providing care and rehabilitation, provides an information and referral service to individuals interested in learning about spinal cord injury through a toll-free National Information Line ((800) 962-9629), has implemented a program of public education that focuses on prevention of spinal cord injury and the abilities of individuals who have been paralyzed as a result of a spinal cord injury. They also provide peer and family counseling as well as advocacy services. Paralyzed Veterans of America is a congressionally chartered veterans service, membership organization that advocates for: quality health care, research and education addressing spinal cord dysfunction, available benefits as a result of military service, civil rights and opportunities that maximize independence. They also offer a number of recreational and sporting activities for paralyzed veterans. You will also find a number of helpful publications that can be downloaded for free as well as news items that are of interest to veterans and their family members.

Spinal Cord Injury Information Pages is designed to be a "best of the web" site for spinal cord injury information. This site offers links and information on spinal cord injury (SCI) in general, SCI clinical trials, SCI health issues, and much, much more. They also offer links to other helpful resources and online communities.

Spinal Times offers an online community in which people with spinal cord injuries may find motivation to lead fully productive and independent lives. The website offers a supportive environment in which people with spinal cord injuries may chat with others with similar experiences and may read other's personal stories. The site also offer information on government benefits, private insurance, home health care, preventative care, motion and movement exercises, physical therapy, daily health, employment, family, recreation and much more.

United Spinal Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of Americans with spinal cord injury or disease, such as multiple sclerosis, poliomyelitis, or Lou Gehrig's disease. Services include an advocacy program, accessible architecture planning, an assistive technology program, benefits counseling, sports and recreation and much more. Florida Spinal Cord Injury Resource Center is a non-profit, statewide resources information clearinghouse that provides access to the most recent spinal cord injury-related materials to people with spinal cord injuries, their families, support groups, and rehabilitation professionals. They offer a number of helpful publications including a Resource Guide and A Family and Survivor's Guide to Spinal Cord Injury.
