Commission on Mental and Physical Disability Law is a law organization that promotes commitment to justice and the rule of law for persons with mental, physical and sensory disabilities, and their full and equal participation in the legal profession. One of the most important concerns of the Commission is the implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The commission has published several books and manuals on the subject and collects information to build a foundation for the Association's implementation efforts as the legal profession's resource for technical information. The Commission consists of fifteen members appointed by the American Bar Association President. It meets twice yearly at its headquarters in Washington, D.C. to map out future plans and to direct its current activities. The Honorable Richard Teitelman currently sits as Chair of the Commission. National Senior Citizens Law Center is a non-profit organization that provides legal information on advocacy, litigation and publishing on low-income elderly and disability issues including Medicare, Medicaid, SSI, and Nursing Homes. The National Senior Citizens Law Center promotes the independence and well-being of low-income elderly individuals, as well as persons with disabilities, with particular emphasis on women and racial and ethnic minorities.
