September 2016 -"Keep an atmosphere of hope."

Whether you are a parent of a person with a disability or an individual with a disability, when you first find out about disability it is difficult to cope.

Faced with insurmountable problems, how do you cope?
 
If you become isolated you may give in to despair.  The human psyche does not want to face failure.
 
Keep an atmosphere of hope!

Allow yourself to grieve about your disability.
Allow yourself to express your emotions.
Allow yourself that you are human. 
Then get on with it.

Give yourself the time to accept disability.  Some say embrace it!

Do not give in to despair!  How?

Shut yourself away to give yourself a break from the world.  If someone calls say, "No," that you are tied up today.

 Do not beat yourself up, go easy on yourself, Be good to yourself, take time for yourself, then, get on with it, Allow yourself that you are human.
