October 2008 - S. 3668 - Crime Victims with Disabilities Act

On October 1st, Senator Joe Biden (D-DE) introduced the Crime Victims with Disabilities Act (S. 3668), which will increase the awareness, investigation, prosecution, and prevention of crimes against people with disabilities, in addition to improving the services made available to those who are victims of crimes. While the Act may not see any action before the end of this Congress, it may be taken up during the "Lame Duck" session after the November 4th Elections. The full text of the bill has been made available by the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) online at www.aucd.org/docs/policy/abuse_neglect/crime_victims_2008_bill.pdf.
